The original colours of my MPC 1000 were a bit ugly, so a friend and I decided to do something about it.
Nishan, one of my oldest buddies, is an amazing artist and was happy to get a chance to paint some plastic. After driving around town picking up supplies, we headed back to his place to paint.
We put a few coats of ivory spray paint on the side panels and memory card slot and waited for them to dry. Nishan then painted an amazing face of a sexy girl on the inside of a panel for practice — we really should have taken a picture of her next time the panels come off, I guess.
After the practice painting, Nishan painted the right panel with an even more beautiful girl's face. We painted the lettering and added some racing stripes (zoom!) and waited for it all to dry.
I took the panels home and put many coats of clear matte paint over the panels. This step really made the panels come together as it tied together the texture and lighting of the different paints we used.
